FAQ's

How much does it cost?

Our most popular session costs £25 for 60 minutes and £20 for a 45 minute session. We do also have a longer 75 minute session at £30. In addition we have tailored discounts for parties of 6 or more where session times increase to up to 90 minutes.

Is axe throwing safe?

We have created a safe environment and frequently check to ensure safety. Provided our instructions are complied with there is extremely low risk of injury.

Do you sell food?

We do offer confectionary and snacks.

Are there drinks for sale?

We offer both hot drinks and soft drinks for sale.

Do you sell / can we bring our own alcohol?

We do not hold alcohol licenses in our venues and as such do not sell alcohol. However, we do allow group parties of 6 or more to bring their own alcoholic beverages. We do not charge for this facility. Beverages can be stored in our fridges upon arrival to keep cool. However, we do reserve the right to refuse axe-throwing participation if any player appears to be a little wobbly.

Are spectators welcome?

Yes of course, we have a viewing area.

Can I bring my own axe?

No, we do not allow players to bring their own axes. For safety, we inspect all our axes several times daily.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for events?

TimberJacks Shrewsbury can cater from 1 person to groups of 16. Larger groups can be accepted if you get in touch. TimberJacks Kidderminster, Leeds and Liverpool can cater for groups of up to 40 players.

How many throwing lanes do you have?

We have 5 throwing lanes in Shrewsbury. Both our Kidderminster and Leeds have 10 throwing lanes and Liverpool has 12 throwing lanes.

How many players do you allow per lane?

We cater for up to a maximum of 4 players per lane.  

How can I pay?

Group party bookings of 6 or more are paid upon booking. Smaller groups can be paid upon booking or in venue by way of card or cash upon arrival.

When should I book?

You can book anytime you wish. Our booking system will indicate availability in real time. For party bookings which include buffets please allow 48 hours before your session date.

How long is a throwing session?

Playtime lasts from 45 to 75 minutes depending on session booked. If playing in a party booking which includes a buffet the time is increased to 90 minutes.

What should I wear?

We advise that you wear flat footwear and not open toed or similar. Given the size and nature of our venues they are not heated. We therefore recommend certainly in the winter months to wear extra layers and may be a hat and possibly gloves. However, that being said you will soon warm up when playing.

Do you provide the axes?

Yes, we provide the axes. All of which are tried, tested and regularly checked and maintained.

Can we take pictures & videos?

Yes of course, it’s all part of the experience!

What are the rules?

The rules for game play are explained in pre-play discussions with our team members.

Can we bring food?

Please do not bring food unless agreed by us.

Is there an age limit?

We cater for 8+ years upwards. All players under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

Do you provide gift cards?

Yes, these are available via our website.

Do you play music & video?

Yes, we are fully licensed to play music and video.

Do we have some training?

Yes, there is a briefing before every game play.

Should I book online?

All bookings should be made online to ensure you'll get a lane. However, we do cater for those walking in but play is subject to lane availability.

Can we cancel and get a refund / reschedule a booking?

Please see our cancellation / re-schedule policy.

What is a waiver / release agreement?

It is a document which you sign to confirm your voluntary and intentional relinquishment or abandonment of a legal advantage, claim, requirement, or right.

In order to participate in our activities we do require a waiver to be completed. Our waivers can be found within our app on Axe Throwers. Simply download and then navigate to your chosen venue to find the waiver. When completed, you will be emailed a copy to present to venue staff upon your arrival.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have good parking at all of our venues.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes we do have wheelchair access both in the spectating areas and on the throwing floor.

What if I am pregnant?

In our profession it is generally stated that you should seek advice from your Doctor. For this purpose, we would advise that the activity gives a moderate work out to the upper body (shoulders and arms) with an element of repetitive bending down to the floor to retrieve axes. 

Do you have toilet facilities?

Yes we do.

Where do I enter my e-gift card code?

If you have an e-gift card simply book your session without selecting tickets or in game extras. Then upon arrival simply show our team your e-gift card and they will use that as payment for your session and any extras.

How do I book with my 2 for 1 ticket?

When booking your session ensure that you select the number of players attending. If you wish to add any in-game extras and pay for those online please do so - alternatively, they can be purchased in venue. Upon arrival show the team your 2 for 1 ticket purchase confirmation email for it to be redeemed.

Can I purchase in-game extras at the venue?

Yes, in-game extras can be purchased in venue.

Can I add to my booking once it has been made?

Yes, simply book more players. Alternatively, drop your venue an email via our contact page or drop us a call or chat message and we'll happily do that for you.

Can I move a booking?

Yes of course, subject to our rescheduling policy.

Can you resend my 2 for 1 ticket confirmation email?

If you cannot locate your confirmation email please do take a look in your junk mail folder as sometimes they can land in there. If you still cannot locate it then get in touch and we'll re-send it for you.

Do I have to purchase tickets online or can I pay in venue?

For non-party bookings you can pay for tickets either online or in venue. However, we do offer a 10% discount when tickets are purchased online whilst booking.

How do I check what times are available?

Simply proceed through the booking stages to see the times available.

Can I get the 10% ticket discount if I am a Lifetime or Axe Throwers member?

Regrettably, this offer cannot be used in addition to discounts enjoyed under this scheme.

What are the buffet options?

Buffet options can be viewed during the booking process following your date and time selection.
